Box Culvert Replacement Completed on Route 97 Near MD State Line in Adams County

Route 97 is open to traffic; some work remains
Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a box culvert replacement project on Route 97 near the Maryland state line in Germany Township, Adams County, has been completed. The road is open to traffic.
The box culvert, which is located between Mathias Road and Georgetown Road just north of the Maryland state line, was closed in mid-June.
This work is part of a project that includes paving, base repair, guiderail replacement, drainage replacement, ADA ramps, signs and pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction on Route 97 from the Maryland state line in Germany Township to Route 194 in Littlestown Borough. This work will continue with lane restrictions and flagging.
JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor on this $ 2,737,247 project. All work is expected to be completed by October 17, 2024.
