Mariposa County

One-Way Traffic Control Next Week

Mariposa County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following one-way traffic control next week on State Route-49 (SR-49), and SR-140 for maintenance and construction operations. Work is scheduled as follows:

State Route 49

  • One-way traffic control from Harris Road to Stumpfield Mountain Road for drainage work beginning Monday, December 9, through Friday, December 13, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Bear Valley Point to Road Back to Old Highway for utility work on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control at Fairgrounds Road Entrance for utility work on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

State Route 140

  • Long-term one-way traffic control on eastbound SR-140 from SR-49 South to 7th Street for crosswalk construction beginning Thursday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m. continuing through to Monday, December 9, 2024, at 6:00 a.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Morse's Nursery to Old Allred Road for utility work on beginning Monday, December 9, through Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from beginning of the passing lane in Catheys Valley to State Route 49 North for sign work beginning Sunday, December 8, through Friday, December 13, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Full highway closure from 5th Street to SR-49 North for special event on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
