Town of Davie Veterans Day Ceremony and Closures

No impacts to solid waste services on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024

DAVIE, Fla. - The Town of Davie will host its free Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Veterans Park, 5750 SW 39th Street.

The ceremony will honor all military personnel who served in the U.S. Armed Forces and will include guest speakers, honor guard, and the playing of each armed forces medley as we recognize our veterans in attendance. A light lunch will be served after the ceremony.

Individuals of all ages are invited to attend this special event to thank our veterans for their sacrifice and service to our country.

Parking Information:

Please note that limited parking will be available onsite at Veterans Park. Satellite parking will also be made available at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, 4201 Rodeo Way. A shuttle bus will transport attendees to the ceremony and back to the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds.

Town Closures

In observance of the Veterans Day holiday, Town municipal offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024. Municipal offices will resume regular operating hours on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 7:30 a.m.

Please take note of the following Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts facilities hours that will be modified for this day:

  • All Town parks, playgrounds and restrooms will be open from 9 a.m. to sunset, with the exception of:
    1. Driftwood, Shenandoah, Waterford and Waverly Park will close at 9 p.m.
    2. Pine Island Park/Bamford Sports Complex will close at 10 p.m.
    3. Programmed sports activities will not be performed on this day.
  • Pine Island Fitness Center will open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Pine Island Aquatic Center will be open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Pine Island Multipurpose Center will be closed
