Pipe Replacement Project Starts Next Week on Housels Run Road in West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County

Montoursville, PA - Motorists are advised that a portion of Housels Run Road (Route 1031) will be closed next week in West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, due to a maintenance project.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Housels Run Road will be closed between Route 45 and Center Street, while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew replaces deteriorating pipes.

The following detours will be in place on October 8 while work is being performed.

  • Commercial vehicles should use Route 405 and Housels Run Road.
  • Local traffic should use Fourth Street.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Housels Run Road will be closed between just north of Muffley Nursery Road and Sodom Road, while a PennDOT maintenance crew replaces deteriorating pipes.

The following detours will be in place on October 9 while work is being performed.

  • Truck traffic to Watsontown Trucking should use Route 45 to Housels Run Road.
  • Truck traffic to the Weis Complex should use Route 405, Housels Run Road, and Sodom Road.

School buses will be permitted through the work zone prior to the project starting.
