Two Shot, One Dead in Watt Avenue Shooting in North Highlands

Just after 10:30 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Sheriff's North Patrol Deputies responded to a shooting in front of an apartment on the 4800 block of Watt Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered one adult male victim with a gunshot wound to his back. Deputies then learned of a second victim, and discovered another adult male suffering from gunshot wounds lying outside of a nearby apartment.

The initial victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive. The second victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Sheriff's Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene, began their investigation, interviewed witnesses, and began to gather evidence. The investigation is still active, and Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the Sheriff's Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
