On November 30, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service's West District responded to the report of an assault in the parking lot of a retailer in the 2300 block of McPhillips Street.
Police met with the 16-year-old victim and a witness. The victim indicated she was walking in the parking lot when she was suddenly confronted by the accused. She was assaulted by being kicked and punched and knocked unconscious. She was transported to hospital in stable condition and treated for her injuries. The accused fled the scene before police arrived.
On December 1, police located the accused in the North Kildonen area and she was taken into custody.
A 16-year-old female is facing an assault charge. She was released on an Undertaking and turned over to the care of an adult.
