Commemorated annually since 2011, Global Media and Information Literacy Week has brought together stakeholders from around the world to share ideas and explore innovative ways to promote Media and Information Literacy for all.
This year's theme is "The New Digital Frontiers of Information: Media and Information Literacy for Public Interest Information". It will address the transformative impact of emerging technologies such as Generative Artificial Intelligence and the new generation of digital content creators on the production and dissemination of public-interest information, highlighting both opportunities and risks.
Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2024 will underscore the importance of keeping pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape and empowering users with the skills to identify, assess and engage with public-interest information online.
The conference in Amman will offer attendees the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking discussions, learn from experts and explore innovative paths for strengthening collaboration in the field of Media and Information Literacy.
