Florida PSC Hearing on Duke's Settlement Agreement on Wednesday

TALLAHASSEE - Following its Internal Affairs (IA) meeting, the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will begin a hearing on Wednesday, August 21, to consider Duke Energy Florida, LLC's (DEF) rate case Settlement Agreement.

On July 15, DEF and the Office of Public Counsel-representing customers-filed a Settlement Agreement resolving all issues in DEF's petition for a rate increase. Several intervenors in the case also signed the Settlement, and the remaining parties do not oppose the Settlement or took no position.

As part of the ratemaking process, the Commission conducted two virtual and two in-person service hearings in June to allow feedback from customers about DEF's quality of service and rate increase request. DEF provides electric service to two million customers in 35 Florida counties.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at the following time and location:

Wednesday, August 21, 2024
Following IA
Betty Easley Conference Center
Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148)
4075 Esplanade Way
Tallahassee, Florida

August 22 is reserved to continue the hearing, if needed.

A live broadcast of the hearing will be available on the PSC's website (click "Watch Live and Archived PSC Events" on our homepage) and may be broadcast on the Florida Channel (check your local listing).
