Georgia DOT Announces Continuous Weekend Lane Closures on I-20 Eastbound from Wesley Chapel to Panola Road
DEKALB COUNTY-Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will implement continuous, double right lane closures along Interstate 20 eastbound (EB) between Wesley Chapel Rd and Panola Rd for two consecutive weekends. These closures allow crews to continue paving and leveling activities for the I-285/I-20 East Interchange project.

The closures in this area are anticipated on the following schedule:
  • Friday, October 4th, at 9 p.m. until Monday, October 7th, at 5 a.m., and
  • Friday, October 11th, at 9 p.m. until Monday, October 14th, at 5 a.m.

Throughout the closures, two lanes will remain open to traffic. Motorists should drive with caution through the area as crews work on the roadway.

These temporary weekend closures will be in place to minimize long term traffic impacts to the traveling public and allow crews to safely and efficiently complete the work needed.

Please be advised that these planned activities may be postponed due to air quality. Motorists and residents are encouraged to stay tuned to Georgia DOT channels for updates.

Advisory: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
