Readout from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement meeting with Utah Sheriffs’ Association and law enforcement officials

WASHINGTON - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials met with representatives from the Utah Sheriffs' Association this week to strengthen our partnerships, discuss issues of common concern and explore ways to collaborate.

ICE officials regularly meet with state, local and tribal law enforcement entities - including agencies, associations and organizations - to offer federal support, answer questions and share information. Open dialogue strengthens the agency's essential partnerships, fosters trust and helps keep American communities safe. Transparency is a vital part of ICE's mission, so the agency also meets with state, local, tribal and territorial governments; elected officials; private sector entities; faith- and activism-based organizations; and colleges and universities. ICE continues to enforce the laws Congress sets forth by cooperating and sharing resources with local officials, maintaining the public's trust and ensuring the highest levels of care for noncitizens in U.S. government custody.
