Welcome Class of 2028!

The largest class in Stevens School of Business history has arrived in Hoboken ready to begin their Stevens experience.

The latest cohort of Ducks has landed in their new academic home.

As part of the Class of 2028 orientation, the School of Business held its annual Academic Day to introduce key staff members and services. In addition to meeting new Dean GJ de Vreede for the first time, members of the undergraduate operations team, the Center for Student Success and the Corporate Outreach & Professional Advancement office explained their roles in the students' experience.

The incoming class is the largest in SSB history with 226 students hailing from 15 states and three countries. The group includes 19 Pinnacle Scholars and 52 student-athletes representing 17 teams. Business & Technology is the most popular major, followed closely by Quantitative Finance.

"You're joining Stevens at an incredibly exciting time," de Vreede told the group. "I have been telling people since I arrived, 'It's a great time to be a Duck.' The Stevens School of Business has achieved so many remarkable things in a short time, and the potential for further success is limitless. You will find that what truly sets Stevens apart is our community. We create and nurture this community together. The people in this room will become your collaborators, your support system, and perhaps even your future business partners. Remember, if it works together like a duck, thinks critically like a duck, and takes on challenges like a duck, then it most definitely is one of our Ducks!

Meet the Class of 2028

Sekai Jones (Plainfield, NJ | Business & Technology)

"I really love the proximity to New York. I came for the pre-college program, and I love the professors. I liked how small and walkable the campus is, and, most importantly, I really love the people that I met. They're really welcoming and friendly, and they didn't make me feel like I was alone and trying to figure out everything. I'm most excited about meeting my professors, going to New York and exploring, going to all the little activities that they have planned for us, and becoming closer with people that I've never met before."

Siddarth Onkar (Monroe Township, NJ | Quantitative Finance)

"I love the view and the program that I'm going into. I really want to work on Wall Street one day, and I feel like this program will help me do that. I like finance, computer science and all the things that come with that. I also love this campus. It's big but still feels cozy. I feel like I can fit in here. I'm excited about getting started, meeting new people, trying new things and exploring Hoboken.

Krish Shetty (Brooklyn Heights, NJ | Quantitative Finance)

"Growing up in New Jersey, I've heard a lot about Stevens and the opportunities it can provide, especially the School of Business. The location was one big thing for me with Hoboken being so close to New York City. The quantitative finance major, it's more exclusive to Stevens. When I was researching schools, I realized it's more of a master's level program. Being able to take courses and meet people, be in this environment and the field that exemplifies what I want to pursue in the future is really exciting."

Josh Temple (Lawrenceville, NJ | Finance)

"I love the location and being so close to the city. I feel like it's going to provide endless opportunities. I'm excited about making friends and getting involved with a lot of the school clubs and activities.

Anna Zielonka (Wallington, NJ | Finance)

The connections with the alumni network and helping with job opportunities is something that really interested me about Stevens, as well as location. Being so close to the city is really good because I want to work in finance. I'm excited for classes to start to learn more about the field I want to pursue, and also just enjoy college, meet new people, and focus on my studies."
