PennDOT Announces Work on Route 504 Bridge Replacement in Centre County to Start July 8

07/03/2024

Clearfield, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) alerted motorists that work on a bridge replacement project on Route 504 (Black Moshannon Road) in Rush Township, Centre County, will begin Monday, July 8. This project will improve safety and ride quality for motorists by improving the overall condition rating of the structure from poor to good.

On Monday, July 8, the contractor will begin to construct a temporary roadway that will route traffic around the work zone while the current structure is removed. As material is placed for the temporary roadway, flaggers will provide traffic control during daylight hours.

A six-day detour will be announced at a later date, to be implemented during the placement of a new concrete box culvert bridge.

Overall work also includes paving, guide rail installation, the placement of pavement markings, and miscellaneous construction. Francis J. Palo is the contractor on this $1 million project.

Motorists are encouraged to "Know Before They Go" by checking conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
