Maintenance Project Set to Begin on River Drive Next Week in Mahoning Township, Montour County

Montoursville, PA - Motorists are advised that starting next week a portion of River Drive (Route 2006) near the railroad crossing in Mahoning Township, Montour County will be closed for a maintenance project.

On Monday, July 8, 2024, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will begin removing a failing retaining wall between River Drive and the railroad tracks and replacing it with a new retaining wall. Work also includes pipe replacements, paving, and guiderail upgrades.

Traffic Detours:

  • A car and truck detour will be in place using Clinic Drive, Route 11, Ridge Drive (Route 2006) and Mount Zion Drive (Route 2013).
  • A bicycle detour will be in place using Clinic Drive, Toby Run Road, Ridge Drive and Mount Zion Drive.

This project is expected to be completed by Monday, August 19, 2024, weather pending. Motorists are urged to drive with caution in the area.
