PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update Week of September 2, 2024

​Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 2. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repair:

• Route 2005 (Canaan Church Road) in Wharton Township
• Route 2006 (Five Forks Road) in Wharton Township
• Route 2009 (Fox Hollow Road) in Wharton Township
• Route 2011 (Dinnerbell-Ohiopyle Road) in Wharton Township

Bridge replacement:

• Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road) in Nicholson Township

Brushing:

• Various routes countywide
  

Ditching:

• Route 21 (McClellandtown Road) in German Township

Pipe replacement:

• Route 2021 (Coolspring Jumonville Road) in North Union Township

Shoulder repair:

• Route 857 (Springhill Furnace Road) in Springhill Township
• Route 857 (Georges Fairchance Road in Georges and Fairchance townships
• Route 3012 (Leckrone Highhouse Road) in German Township
• Route 3012 (York Run Road) in Georges Township

Sign upgrading:

• Various routes countywide
  

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
