PennDOT's Greene County Maintenance Update -- Week of September 2, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Greene County Maintenance Manager Dale Baird announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 2. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 2011 (Garards Fort Road) in Greene Township
  • Route 2017 (Muddy Creek Road) in Cumberland Township
  • Route 2021 (Bald Hill Church Road) in Dunkard Township
  • Route 3005 (Herod Run Road) in Springhill Township
  • Route 3007 (Delphene Road) in Jackson Township
  • Route 3010 (Deep Valley Road) in Springhill Township

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1009 (Bacon Run Road/Center School Road) in Morgan Township

Road closed. Posted detour:

  • Route 1009 (Bacon Run Road/Center School Road)
  • Route 1013 (Clarksville Road/Marianna Road/South Street)
  • Route 1011 (Castile Run Road)
  • Route 1014 (Seven Creeks Road)

Litter and debris removal:

  • Interstate 79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road/Ned Ridge Road/Windy Gap Road) in Aleppo and Springhill townships
  • Route 3002 (Rock Camp Road) in Springhill Township
  • Route 3004 (Garrison Ridge Road) in Springhill Township
  • Route 3005 (Herod Run Road) in Aleppo and Springhill townships
  • Route 3010 (Deep Valley Road) in Springhill Township

Slide repair (paving):

  • Route 21 (West Roy E. Furman Highway) in Gray Township
  • Route 4008 (Nebo Ridge Road) in Richhill Township
  • Route 4015 (Stringtown Road) in Gray Township

Spray patching:

  • I-79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships and various routes countywide

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
