FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yolo County - Caltrans is alerting motorists about ongoing one-way traffic control on a Yolo State Highway 16 pavement improvement project.

Continuing construction work will include 24/7 one-way traffic control on Highway 16 to allow access to heavy equipment during paving operations. Paving work with traffic control is scheduled daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Monday, October 28, however weekend work will be adjusted to have both lanes open during peak travel times.

After paving work is completed, the contractor will be doing shoulder backing and barrier and striping work, with anticipated minimal delays to the traveling public. The project is expected to be completed by November 12 (weather permitting).

The extended daytime lane closures help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers' safety. Daytime temperatures also help ensure the pavement dries in time to reopen to traffic.

The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers' safety. For more information on each project visit Caltrans District 3 Current Projects.

The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
