(PEORIA, IL) On Thursday, September 12, 2024, at approximately 9:15 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of W. Ann on a report of a male with a gun.
When officers arrived, they observed 3 males at the corner of W. Ann and S. Manual.
After a brief chase officers apprehended all three subjects, identified as two male juveniles (16 years old & 14 years old) and an adult male (18 years old).
Officers on the scene then conducted a search of the subject's flight path and located a discarded handgun in the 2900 block of W. Proctor. Spent shell casings were also recovered on scene.
All three males were transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes.
The adult male and the 14-year-old male were released without charges.
The 16-year-old male was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun Under 21, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The male was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
