GVSU recognized as top veteran-friendly school in Michigan

For the 10th consecutive year, Grand Valley was recognized as one of the top veteran-friendly schools in Michigan by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.

Among 62 schools that were recognized with gold, silver or bronze statuses, GVSU received gold status by the MVAA, affirming the university's commitment to excellence in serving the veteran community.

"Grand Valley is committed to helping service members and their families successfully transition from serving in the military to earning a degree and beyond," said President Philomena V. Mantella. "We are honored to receive gold status from the MVAA and have those efforts recognized."

Programs such as Veterans Advance,The GVSU Veteran Promise, Michigan Veteran Entrepreneurship-Lab, Peter Secchia Military and Veterans Programand the LEADS for Vets accelerated bachelor's program are among the assistance and resources GVSU offers to its veteran students.

In April, the Peter Secchia Military and Veterans Resource Center reinstated the Student Veteran Graduation Celebration.
