ASEAN companies receive award for outstanding workplace programmes on HIV, AIDS prevention

SINGAPORE, 13 October 2022 - Today, six private companies received the ASEAN Red Ribbon for Outstanding Workplace (ARROW) Award for their good practices in creating a safe, healthy, and non-discriminatory workplace through their HIV and AIDS awareness and prevention programmes.

Secretary-General of ASEAN Dato Lim Jock Hoi congratulated the awardees for their commitment to promote non-discriminatory policies and environment for workers with HIV and AIDS. He emphasised the importance of ensuring the safety and health of ASEAN workers, especially those with HIV and AIDS, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inaugurally held in 2016, the ARROW Award is organised biennially by the ASEAN Business Coalition on HIV and AIDS (ASEAN-BCA), an entity established by the ASEAN Labour Ministers Meeting in 2014.

The Singaporean Ministry of Manpower, as the ASEAN-BCA Coordinator in 2020-2022, hosted the fourth Award Ceremony online. The award was respectively presented to Top Summit Garment Inc. of Cambodia; PT. Parkland World Indonesia 2 of Indonesia; Phu Bia Mining Limited of Lao PDR; Sunway Group of Malaysia; AAVC - Animal and Avian Veterinary Clinic of Singapore; and Gamma Industries Co. Ltd. of Thailand.

The first ARROW Award was hosted by Indonesia in 2016, followed by Malaysia in 2018 and the Philippines in 2020.
