PASADENA, Calif. - The City of Pasadena is excited to announce the launch of the "Shop Local Pasadena" campaign, celebrating the city's vibrant business landscape of over 1,600 retail businesses and more than 700 restaurants. The campaign invites residents and visitors to explore Pasadena, discover hidden treasures, and connect with the passionate business owners who make Pasadena's local shops and eateries special.
"Shop Local Pasadena" will kick off on Small Business Saturday, November 30, and run throughout December, highlighting local businesses and encouraging residents and visitors to shop and dine locally.
On Small Business Saturday, 26 independent businesses across Pasadena will offer shoppers a choice of two free, limited-edition tote bags (while supplies last). Customers can pick up a "Shop Local Pasadena" canvas tote at any participating location, or a special "Pasadena Crafted" tote designed in partnership with Visit Pasadena and illustrated by local small business Little Friends of Printmaking.
Free Pasadena Transit
To further encourage local shopping and dining, Pasadena Transit will offer free rides on Friday, November 29, and Saturday, November 30. Visitors can easily access Pasadena's retail areas, with schedules, maps, and real-time arrival information available at PasadenaTransit.net.
"Shopping locally is more than just a transaction - it's an opportunity to experience the creativity and community spirit that make Pasadena unique," said David Klug, the City of Pasadena's Economic Development Director. "By supporting local businesses, shoppers are not only finding one-of-a-kind items but also helping sustain a thriving, diverse business community that's at the heart of Pasadena."
Kristin McGrath, Executive Director of Visit Pasadena, added, "Pasadena is a destination for those who value authentic experiences. This holiday season, we encourage visitors and community members to play a vital role in supporting local entrepreneurs by exploring the independently owned shops and eateries that make Pasadena such a special place."
