UW and Wyoming APEX Accelerator to Host Defense Logistics Agency Contracting Webinar Sept. 24

Small-business owners can learn about government contracting with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Sara Mikesell Growney, Jessica Wallis and Patrick D'Amico will lead a Wyoming APEX Accelerator "Lunch and Learn" webinar titled "Government Contracting: Doing Business With DLA" from noon-1 p.m. To register, go here. Registration is free.

Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network housed at the University of Wyoming, is the state's expert in government contracting assistance.

DLA Troop Support is a major subordinate command of DLA, located in Philadelphia, with a global presence, including offices in Europe, Africa and the Pacific regions. It has responsibility for supply chains that provide our nation's military and government partners with food and feeding equipment; clothing and textile items; construction and equipment materials, ranging from lightbulbs to bulldozers; and medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.

During the webinar, DLA will present what it needs to buy, how it buys and how small businesses can get involved. DLA Troop Support is actively engaged in spreading its procurement over 50 states and wants to expand the number of small businesses participating.

Mikesell Growney is a procurement adviser for Wyoming APEX Accelerator. Wallis is director, and D'Amico is deputy director in the Small Business Office, DLA Troop Support, at DLA.
