Iloilo FCAs receive Php100.3M worth of agricultural machinery

A total of 29 Farmers' Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) from Iloilo Province received 50 units of various agricultural machinery worth Php100.3 million under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) - Mechanization Program. The provincial turnover and agricultural machinery distribution was held on November 6 in Tigbauan, Iloilo.
The machinery and equipment received by the FCAs include seven units of four-wheel tractors, 22 units of PTO driven disc plows, three units of rice reapers, eight units of rice combine harvesters, two units of recirculating dryer (6-tonner), seven units of levee makers, and one unit of multi-stage rice mill (2-3 tons/hour capacity). These grants are expected to benefit farmer members from municipalities of Oton, Tigbauan, Tubungan, Alimodian, Pavia, Leon, Bingawan, Janiuay, Maasin, Dumangas, San Juan Crisostomo, Balasan, Estancia, San Rafael, San Dionisio, Carles, and Ajuy.
"Una, big help po sa aming mga farmers [ang mga machinery], anytime na gusto na nila magharvest ay nakaha-harvest na po sila, nakakatanim sila… available ang ating mga machinery. Ikalawa ay ang increase po sa dibidendo, mas malaki ang income ng mga members" said Georgina Basco, general manager of Kooperatiba Naton Multipurpose Cooperative, one of the recipients.
Engr. Domingo Miranda, Assistant Division Chief of Facility Management and Field Operations Division attended the ceremony, along with other local government officials who gave their full support to the farmers and the RCEF Mechanization Program.
