The University of Wyoming Department of Music's Collegiate Chorale will celebrate the elegance, charm and élan of French repertoire through "Chantez: A Francophile Fête" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.
Tickets are $14 for the public, $10 for senior citizens and $6 for students. A nominal processing fee will be charged for each ticket. To purchase tickets, visit the Performing Arts box office, call (307) 766-6666 or go online at www.tix.com/ticket-sales/uwyo/6984.
The ensemble -- led by conductor Brian Murray and assisted by Alisson Garcia, pianist; Michael Lechner, graduate conductor; and Emily Peterson, graduate conductor -- will explore the multifarious sounds of French music from around the world.
From well-known French composers such as Debussy, Duruflé and Massenet, to works by Haitian composer Sydney Guillaume and Canadian composers Lionel Daunais and Marie-Claire Saindon, the Collegiate Chorale's performance serves as a tour d'horizon of Francophile music.
Soloists for select numbers include UW voice faculty members Eric Erlandson, baritone, and Magdalena Wór, mezzo-soprano.
UW's Collegiate Chorale performed this concert in late October at Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village, organized by the Grand Teton Music Festival.
