The Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) is reminding motorists, residents and visitors to be aware of traffic impacts and increased activity in the Grant Park and Loop area for the 17th annual Hot Chocolate Run and walks. Participants and the public are also encouraged to be cognizant, aware of surroundings and report suspicious activity to 9-1-1.
Hot Chocolate 5k, 10k, 15K (7:30 a.m.) and 2-Mile Walk (8:45 a.m.)
The 17th annual Hot Chocolate 5K, 10K. 15K and 2-mile walk is on Sunday, November 3 with over 30,000 participants expected. The course starts and ends in Grant Park, travelling
north on Columbus to Wacker Drive, through the Loop, south on Michigan Avenue to 31st Street, then south on MLK Drive to 35th Street before heading back on the lakefront path to the finish just south of Balbo and Columbus.
Expect additional activity on Friday (12 p.m. to 7 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at Navy Pier for the Hot Chocolate Expo, where participants pick up race day packets.
