Goehring announces ADD awards funding

BISMARCK, N.D. - Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced Agriculture Diversification and Development (ADD) Fund awards for four projects. The awards totaling $625,000 were approved at the ADD quarterly meeting July 31 in Medora.<_o3a_p>

The ADD Fund is administered by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. The fund was created to support new or expanding value-added-agriculture businesses that demonstrate financial feasibility, enhance profitability for the industry, create jobs and grow North Dakota's economy. Types of projects eligible for the fund include but are not limited to agriculture product manufacturing and animal production facilities, commodity processing facilities, and food production and processing facilities. Feed or pet food processing facilities may be eligible.<_o3a_p>

The following received approval:<_o3a_p>

Red River Potatoes, LLC was awarded $200,000 to assist with the purchase of equipment to handle increased production. Contact Jack Wiegand at 559-276-2855.<_o3a_p>

Pingree Transload, LLC was awarded $175,000 to assist with the purchase of state-of-the-art, identity-preserved grain processing equipment. Contact Carl or Julie Peterson at 701-282-7476.<_o3a_p>

Badlands Feeds LLC was awarded $100,000 to assist with contractual and construction costs to make their storage bins operational. Contact Heather Buckman at 701-225-5161.<_o3a_p>

The Dairy Dozen-Milnor, LLP was awarded $150,000 to assist with the construction of a robotic milking barn. Contact Richard Millner at 701-640-4340.<_o3a_p>

ADD will hold its next grant application hearing on Nov. 20-21, 2024, in Bismarck. Applications for the next meeting must be received by Oct. 1, 2024.<_o3a_p>
