UPDATE: Police identify the driver of the vehicle that drove into...

Update: The state police have identified Kumar Budhu, age 47 of Florida, New York as the operator of the 2003 Toyota that drove into Glenmere Lake. His body was recovered outside of the vehicle by the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team.

State police were assisted by the Village of Florida Police Department, Warwick Police Departments, and Greenwood Lake Police Department.

Original Press Release: At 1:30 p.m., September 9, 2024, New York State Police responded to Glenmere Lake in the village of Florida for a report of vehicle in the lake. State Police Underwater Recovery Team (URT), the Forensics Identification Unit (FIU) are on scene along with Village of Florida Battalion Dive Teams.
