On September 6, 2024, State Police arrested Wayne D. Miller, 24, of East Berne, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree and Menacing in the second degree.

On September 6, 2024, at about 8:18 p.m., State Police of Wilton responded to the area of Heritage Way in Wilton, NY, for the report of a dispute involving a handgun. The investigation determined Miller and the victim, who are known to each other, were reportedly in a verbal disagreement when Miller brandished and pointed a handgun at the victim. Miller fled the location in a vehicle prior to law enforcement's arrival.

Miller was located with the assistance of the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office in the area of Sitterly Road in Clifton Park, NY where he was taken into custody. A search of the area by a Saratoga County Sheriff's Office K9 located a handgun and other items belonging to Miller in a wooded area near where he was arrested and later identified as the handgun used during the crime.

Miller was transported and processed at SP Wilton. He was arraigned at the Wilton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond.
