Elgin Police Officers Continue their Enforcement Efforts to Ensure Safety

Elgin Police Officers made 282 DUI arrests in 2023, marking a 2.2% increase from the previous year and securing the second-highest total in the state.

The Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists released its 2023 DUI Survey, an annual report detailing the enforcement efforts of police departments across Illinois in combating drunk and drugged driving.

"(We are) proud of the continued enforcement efforts made by the Elgin Police Officers and their dedication towards the departmental goal of traffic safety and enforcement," said Elgin Police Chief Ana Lalley. "These daily efforts address the dangers that driving under the influence presents to the entire community and appreciate all they do to protect the citizens of Elgin."
