55-Hour Single Lane Closures, Barrier Work on U.S. 101 San Mateo/Santa Clara County Line to Whipple Ave.

San Mateo County - Caltrans will continue median barrier upgrade work on U.S.101 between the San Mateo/ Santa Clara County line to Whipple Ave. Caltrans will close a 2.5-mile section of the North and Southbound Express Lanes (#1 lane) beginning on Friday, August 16, 10:00 PM thru Monday, August 19, 5:00 AM. This is the second of nine 55-hour single lane closures scheduled to complete barrier upgrade and related work. Each closure work limits will be a 2.5-mile section. All work will be done outside of Express Lane operational hours.

An additional lane may be closed at various times during the closures to facilitate equipment and materials.

  • August 9 - August 12completed
  • August 16 - August 19
  • August 23 - August 26
  • September 6 - September 9
  • September 13 - September 16
  • September 27 - September 30
  • October 25 - October 28
  • November 1 - November 4
  • November 15 - November 18
