Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Flora Avenue

Released: November 9, 2024 at 9 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB- At 6:41 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, multi-family residence in the 600 block of Flora Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke coming from the structure. They entered and fought the fire from the interior, declaring the fire under control at 7:07 a.m.

While most residents safely self-evacuated, firefighters assisted two individuals out of the residence. Those two were assessed by on-scene paramedics but did not require transport to hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services teamwas activated to assist displaced residents.

The fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
