Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!


As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Homicide - 3500 block of Santa Fe Avenue : On Sept. 15, 2024, at approximately 1:38 a.m., officers were dispatched to an unwelcome call at the 3500 block of Santa Fe Avenue, resulting in the death of a female adult. Upon arrival, officers contacted a female adult victim with stab wounds to the upper and body, and subsequently rendered medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived, where they determined the victim deceased. Homicide detectives are investigating this incident and a news release detailing the homicide is forthcoming.
Great workofficers! Last night, officers safely took two guns off the streets.
  • On Sept. 15, 2024, at approximately 12:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Arlington Street regarding a person with a gun call. Upon arrival, officers contacted the male adult suspect as described by the calling party, however, he attempted to flee from officers on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect surrendered, and he was subsequently arrested and transported to Long Beach City Jail for booking. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm and determined the suspect to be a prohibited possessor. The investigation is ongoing.

  • On Sept. 14, 2024, at approximately 10:19 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near the 900 block of Maine Avenue. During the investigation, officers recovered a loaded firearm and arrested the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
