Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

On September 4, we proudly honored Director OrlandoFuentes, whose family's journey from El Salvador to America in 1946 is a powerful testament to hope and resilience. With an infant in their arms, Fuentes' parents left everything behind to pursue a better future, setting the stage for the remarkable path he would follow.

Born in San Francisco and raised in a bilingual household, Fuentes embraced his rich cultural heritage, pursuing higher education at SF State and UC Berkeley. His passion for public service led him to a 26-year career in state government, focusing on health, human services, and crime prevention. In 2016, he joined the Cosumnes CSD Board, where his leadership continues to shape our community.

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we honor Director Fuentes for his dedication and the lasting contributions of the Hispanic community.
