Database: Map of North Korea’s Garbage-Filled Balloons

Since May 28, 2024, North Korea restarted sending trash-filled balloons into South Korea. Over the course of a month, and in seven waves, they have sent between 2,000 to 5,000 balloons. These balloons have been found to contain trash such as animal and human feces, batteries, cigarette butts, clothes, dark soil, plastic bottles, toilet paper, wastepaper, and vinyl.
