Belmont County: Construction Update
Current and upcoming road closures and restrictions for Belmont County are listed below. Click on each route to see the location at OHGO.com.
Blaine Hill Bridge - U.S. Route 40 traffic pattern changes: Effective immediately, U.S. Route 40 westbound is closed at the Blaine Hill bridge located west of Bridgeport between County Road 10 and County Road 214. This closure, made out of an abundance of caution, will remain in effect until further notice. One lane will be maintained for eastbound traffic. ODOT is actively working on plans for both a temporary and long-term fix. A timeline for those repairs is not available at this time.
State Route 800 closure north of Somerton: Starting July 8, State Route 800 will close just north of Somerton for a slide repair project. The detour is SR 148 east to SR 26 south, SR 26 south to SR 145 south, SR 145 south to SR 800, and reverse. The completion date is July 12, 2024.
State Route 800 closure north of Hendrysburg: Starting July 15, State Route 800 will close five miles north of Hendrysburg/I-70 for a slide repair project. The detour is U.S. 22 west to SR 513 south, SR 513 south to I-70 east, I-70 east back to SR 800, and reverse. The completion date is July 19, 2024.
State Route 379 slide repair: A project to repair a slide along State Route 379 located south of the State Route 379/ State Route 147 split. Traffic will be maintained during construction via temporary traffic signals with an 11-foot width restriction. The completion date is October 31, 2024.
State Route 7 resurfacing through Martins Ferry: Work is underway to resurface a three-mile section of State Route 7 through Martins Ferry. During construction, one traffic lane will be maintained in both directions with a 12-foot width restriction. The completion date is October 31, 2024.
State Route 7 resurfacing through Shadyside: Resurfacing two miles of State Route 7 through Shadyside. One traffic lane will be maintained in both directions throughout the project. The completion date is September 30, 2024.
State Route 7 culvert replacement project south of Bellaire: The project is located on the State Route 7 northbound off-ramp at Pinch Run. The ramp has a width restriction of 10 feet. The completion date is June 30, 2024.
State Route 147 slide repair near Barnesville: Located southeast of Barnesville near Ryan Road. Traffic is maintained via temporary traffic signals with an 11-foot width restriction. The completion date for the repair work is October 31, 2024.
