Santa Ana’s 2023 Water Quality Report: Only A Click Away

The City of Santa Ana has released its 2023 Water Quality Report, also known as the annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). This report highlights the quality of Santa Ana's water, which earned its third gold medal for the nation's highest-quality and best-tasting tap water earlier this year.

Beyond the detailed information about the quality of Santa Ana's drinking water and its award-winning water delivery system, the report also covers the various capital improvement projects, ongoing programs, and other regional initiatives aimed at securing a reliable, high-quality water supply for the future:

  • Water Infrastructure Improvements: Renovation of two existing wells, drilling of a new groundwater well, and installation of 4,500 linear feet of water mains and over 10,000 linear feet of sewer mains.
  • Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Initiative: Nearly half of the city's water meters have been upgraded to smart meters. This project, aimed at reducing operational costs, improving service, and preparing for future needs, is on track for completion by December 2025.
  • Partnership with Orange County Water District: Construction of treatment facilities at three well sites, design of a centralized treatment facility at John Garthe Reservoir, and plans for a second centralized treatment facility at Walnut Reservoir to address the challenges posed by PFAS.
  • Collaboration with Metropolitan Water District: Development of a new Climate Adaptation Master Plan to help our region adapt its water delivery and storage to changing climate conditions, ensuring reliable water supplies for our community.

Residents are invited to view the report online at SantaAnaCCR.org, where they can also download and print their own copy of the entire report. For residents who do not have Internet access, please call 714-647-3320 or email [email protected] to request the printed edition.
