Ernst Celebrates America’s Birthday

WASHINGTON - Ahead of Independence Day, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), a combat veteran and retired Lieutenant Colonel, released the following video honoring America's 248^th birthday:

"Hi, folks. This is Senator Joni Ernst from the great state of Iowa.

"Happy Independence Day!

"Today, we celebrate America's birth.

"Every single day. But especially today, I'm proud to be a citizen of the greatest nation on the face of the planet.

"Too often we take for granted the freedoms and opportunities afforded to us as Americans.

"But today, I encourage you to join me in pausing and honoring the men and women who wear the uniform to protect and defend our God-given rights.

"I will never stop fighting for the freedoms and values that make the United States the land of the free and home of the brave.

"God bless you and your family on this Independence Day!"
