City of Elgin to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Millennium Park Renovations

The City of Elgin is excited to announce a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the grand reopening of Millennium Park following extensive renovations. The ceremony will take place at Millennium Park, 725 Red Barn Lane, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 6:00 PM.

The $700,000 renovation project, which includes $338,000 in grant funding, has significantly enhanced Millennium Park. The improvements feature several new ADA-compliant amenities, designed to increase accessibility and ensure an inclusive environment for all visitors. The new additions include:

  • Artificial turf
  • A new playground
  • Renovated shelter
  • Gaga pit
  • Half-court basketball
  • Bamboo jungle
  • Fitness equipment
  • Baggo game
  • Game tables
  • Butterfly garden
  • New pathways
  • Renovated sand pit

Community members are invited to celebrate and explore the park's new features, designed to enhance recreation and enjoyment for all ages. Complimentary popcorn, water, and freeze pops will be available.
