Frontier Pilots Picket for Fair Pay and Recognition in Stalled Contract Talks

DENVER-Today, Frontier Airlines pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l (ALPA), held an informational picket to raise awareness about their ongoing contract negotiations and the urgent need for a market-based agreement. Joined by fellow ALPA pilots from other airlines, Frontier pilots gathered to send a clear message to Frontier Airlines management and industry stakeholders: Frontier pilots are committed to securing a contract that reflects their contributions and aligns with industry standards.

"Frontier pilots have been dedicated to driving our airline's growth and profitability, yet the proposals from management fall far short of the fair compensation we have earned," said Capt. Michael Maynard, chair of the Frontier ALPA Master Executive Council. "Today, we are here to remind Frontier leadership of their obligation to recognize and appropriately reward the pilots who keep this airline running efficiently and safely."

Frontier pilots have been in mediated negotiations under the Railway Labor Act since January 2024, with their contract becoming amendable at the start of the year. Despite these negotiations, Frontier management has yet to present a proposal that acknowledges the pilots' role in the airline's success. Even as contract negotiations stall, Frontier pilots continue to perform at the highest standards, maintaining service without any proposals from management that contain any meaningful improvements in pay or quality of life. As the busy holiday season approaches, Frontier pilots call on management to prioritize fair compensation and work conditions, emphasizing that addressing these critical issues is long overdue.

"This picket is a testament to the strength and unity of Frontier pilots," added Capt. Maynard. "We are prepared to stand firm for a contract that respects our contributions and brings Frontier pilots in line with their peers at comparable airlines. Our goal is a fair agreement."

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents more than 78,000 pilots at 41 U.S. and Canadian airlines. Visit ALPA.org or follow us on Twitter @ALPAPilots.
