New American Job Center of California Opens in Napa County

CareerPoint Napa to offer comprehensive workforce services to the community

NAPA, CA - The Workforce Alliance of the North Bay (WANB) and the Napa County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) are pleased to announce the opening of a new American Job Center of California (AJCC) in Napa. The AJCC, named CareerPoint Napa, will provide a range of services designed to help job seekers and employers meet their workforce needs.

The AJCC network is a national initiative that connects job seekers and employers with local, state, and federal workforce programs and resources. The AJCCs offer access to career counseling, training, job search assistance, labor market information, and other services that can help individuals find and retain employment. They also serve as a hub for employers to post job openings, recruit qualified candidates, and receive customized workforce solutions.

CareerPoint Napa is the result of a collaborative effort between Napa County HHSA, WANB, and other partner organizations. WANB is the local workforce development board that oversees the AJCC network in Napa, Lake, Marin, and Mendocino counties. WANB works with public and private partners to align workforce strategies and resources that support the economic vitality of the region.

"We are excited to launch CareerPoint Napa as a one-stop shop for workforce services in our county," said Napa County HHSA Director Jennifer Yasumoto." This new AJCC will enhance our ability to serve our residents and businesses with high-quality, customer-focused, and integrated programs, including career services tailored to our most vulnerable residents with employment barriers."

"CareerPoint Napa is a great addition to our AJCC network in the North Bay," said WANB Executive Director Bruce Wilson. "We look forward to working with Napa County HHSA and our other partners to deliver effective and innovative workforce solutions that meet the needs of our diverse and dynamic communities."

A formal opening ceremony for CareerPoint Napa will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the AJCC location: Napa County Health and Human Services Agency, 2751 Napa Valley Corporate Drive, Napa, CA 94558, Building A.
