Over 60 Georgia Colleges and Universities Waive College Application Fees

ATLANTA, GA - The Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) has partnered with the University System of Georgia (USG), the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), and over a dozen private colleges and universities to provide application fee waiversto Georgia high school seniors. Over 60 Georgia colleges and universities will waive their application fees for high school seniors between November 1 and 30 as part of Apply to College Month.

"We want all of Georgia's students to know there is a place for them at one of our institutions of higher education next fall," said Governor Kemp. "That's why we're excited that this Apply to College Month, schools from USG, TCSG, and private institutions are waiving application fees to make it easier for students and their families to navigate the application process and find their match. Thank you to our team at GSFC for all they do on this, GEORGIA MATCH, and other initiatives to help connect the next generation of Georgians with opportunities for success."

This is the 4th year GSFC has promoted application fee waivers in November. There is no limit on the number of schools a student may apply to using the application fee waivers. While application fees may vary by institution, the cost savings to high school seniors applying to multiple colleges can be significant.

"There has never been a better time to apply to college in Georgia," said Georgia Student Finance Commission President Lynne Riley. "Georgia is unique in that we offer direct admissions through GEORGIA MATCH, tuition funding through the HOPE Scholarship and Grant, and we offer application fee waivers in March and November."

Students who apply through the GEORGIA MATCHdirect admissions dashboard in November will automatically have their application fees waived. The full list of participating schools and information on how to access the application fee waivers may be found at GAfutures.org.

The mission of the Georgia Student Finance Commission is to help students pursue higher education with the least out-of-pocket costs possible.
