A clean sweep! City's new street sweepers make their debut

Published on September 11, 2024

Yesterday afternoon was awash in excitement as two of the City's 12 new street sweepers stopped by Old City Hall for their official unveiling.

The formidable fleet will help clean up dirt, debris and trash from major streets for a cleaner, safer and greener Fort Worth.

City dignitaries and staff members gathered to celebrate the sweepers' much anticipated arrival.

Judging by their reaction, we think it's safe to say the crowd was swept away by the shiny new fleet.

There's still time to name the sweepers!

Our sweepers need names, and we're looking to you for ideas. Submit your fun, unique ideas online no later than Sept. 30.

Winning names will be selected by November and will be displayed on the side of new sweepers. The contest is free and open to all Fort Worth residents.

How to enter:

  • Get creative: Think of fun, catchy names that you think would be perfect for the new sweepers.
  • Submit your ideas: Visit the City of Fort Worth litter webpage and fill out the Name the Sweepers Contest entry form by Sept. 30.
  • Winners: After the contest closes, submissions will be reviewed, and winners will be announced in November. The best 12 names will be displayed on the new sweepers when they start their first routes.
  • See a full list of contest rules.

Thank you for helping promote a litter-free community!
