Dechert Advises Bentley Systems on Acquisition of 3D Geospatial Company Cesium

Dechert advised Bentley Systems, an infrastructure engineering software company, on its acquisition of Cesium, a 3D geospatial company.

Cesium is recognized as the foundational open platform for creating powerful 3D geospatial applications, and its 3D Tiles open standard has been widely adopted by leading enterprises, governments and tens of thousands of application developers globally.

Bentley's iTwin Platform powers digital twin solutions that are used by engineering and construction firms and owner-operators to design, build, and operate the world's infrastructure.

The combined capabilities of the two organizations enable infrastructure professionals to make better decisions in a 3D geospatial context, offering new growth opportunities and greater value for a thriving developer ecosystem.

The Dechert team advising Bentley Systems was led by corporate partner Eric Siegel and included corporate associates Marie Mast, Grace Canfield, Bryan Wilson and Christopher Rodrigues; tax partner Kevin Zaragoza and associate Abigail Hopper; intellectual property partner Thomas Rayski; and employee benefits partner David Jones and associates Michael Binko and Taylor Knowles.
