INFORMATIONAL: Update - Kuihelani Highway Fire
WHAT: For the safety of the community, Maui Emergency Management Agency suggests leaving the area due to poor visibility and air quality. Maui Fire Department continues to battle the fire. Maui Police Department has closed Kuihelani Highway in both directions.
WHERE: East Waiko Road and Waiko Industrial
WHEN: 5:30 pm
IMPACTS: Smoke impacting visibility and air quality
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
Avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to work safely. Maui Emergency Management Agency notifies the public in the East Waiko Road area to prepare yourself and your family to leave to a safe area. If you feel you need to leave the area now, please do so. Monitor radio, TV, and mobile devices for official information.
