MPD Arrests Suspect in Southeast Shooting

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in a shooting in Southeast.

On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at approximately 7:43 p.m., officers were notified of a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital. The man reported he had been shot at a gas station in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast earlier that evening. The victim is currently being treated for their injuries at an area hospital and is listed in stable condition.

On September 7, 2024, as a result of detectives' investigation, 64-year-old Charles Brown, of a No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
