JTEKT exhibits new machine tools at IMTS2024

JTEKT MACHINERY AMERICAS CORPORATION (headquarters: Arlington Heights, Illinois, USA), an overseas subsidiary of JTEKT Corporation (headquarters: Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, President: Yoshihito Kondo, hereinafter referred to as "JTEKT"), will exhibit at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS2024) to be held at McCormick Place (Chicago, Illinois, USA) from September 9th to 14th.

Exhibition Concept

Due to labor shortages within the manufacturing industry in the United States, securing and retaining labor, along with the development of technical skills, have become notable concerns. At the JTEKT booth at this exhibition, JTEKT Group and its partner companies will propose a wide range of solutions that contribute to solving labor issues in the manufacturing industry, including the latest machining centers, grinding machines, turning centers, and innovative automated production systems that incorporate robotics and other emerging manufacturing technologies.

Horizontal machining center "FH5000S-i" + FMC (Flexible Manufacturing Cell)

We will be exhibiting FH5000S-i horizontal machining center, which enables highly efficient machining of a variety of parts, combined with FMC automated production system. The pallet pool has a multi-level shelf structure that saves installation space, and when combined with a high-speed APC (Automatic Pallet Changer), lost time due to pallet changes will be minimized. We will propose automation solutions to meet customer needs, such as increasing the number of pallets that can be stored and enabling unmanned operation at night and on holidays.

The highly rigid spindle and remarkable machine rigidity allow for highly efficient machining of a wide variety of parts. The low thermal displacement design reduces machining errors and vastly improves productivity. Equipped with a wide range of easy-to-use functions, it allows for smooth setup work.

The optimal machine design and structure, developed based on a combined analysis of deformation and thermal displacement, incorporates JTEKT's unique "STAT BEARING®," which achieves "low vibration" and "ultimate rotational accuracy." Dimensional change is reduced by 30% compared to conventional methods, enabling high-precision machining.
