Chinese Embassy in Norway held reception to celebrate the 97th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army

On July 25th, the Chinese Embassy in Norway held a reception to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). Nearly 150 guests, including dignitaries from the Norwegian military, government, and business community, as well as Military Attachés, overseas Chinese, participated the reception. Chinese Ambassador to Norway, H.E. Ms. Hou Yue, and diplomats from the embassy were present.

Senior Colonel Li Shangjie, Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Norway, delivered a speech and highlighted that over the past 97 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the PLA has achieved great historical merit. In the new era, guided by Xi Jinping's Thought on building a strong military, the people's armed forces is accelerating its progress towards realizing the centenary goal in 2027 and becoming a world-class military. The building of a stronger PLA means strengthening the force for safeguarding world peace. The Chinese side will take the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Norway diplomatic ties as an opportunity, and strive to enhance military exchanges and cooperation with Norway. Upholding the three global initiatives (the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative), China is committed to working with peace-loving friends from all nations to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

At the reception, the guests watched photos and a video clip about the PLA and remarked positively on the achievements of China's national defense and military modernization, and the positive role played by the Chinese military in international security affairs.
