On Friday, 7/19, a nationwide curfew was imposed in Bangladesh following student protests over government job quotas, with all public gatherings banned by police in the capital of Dhaka.
On Wednesday (7/24), the curfew had been lifted daily from 10am to 5pm. All factories in the garment manufacturing hubs reopened after a four-day pause in production, and offices resumed operations between 11am and 3pm.
As of Tuesday (7/30), curfew has been lifted daily from 7am to 6pm. Factories and offices are now operating within normal hours.
8/6 UPDATE: On 8/5, the army chief of Bangladesh has announced that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and fled the country after weeks of civil unrest. An interim government will be formed.
8/6 UPDATE: Following ongoing protests, the regime issued a nationwide curfew and a three-day general holiday. As of 8/6, the curfew has been lifted, and three-day holiday cancelled.
