LOCAL NEWS | Cook Captures Emerging Leader Award

Engineer Logan Cook received the Emerging Leader Award from the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Purdue University, honoring the alumnus' career success, work ethic, and contribution to his community.

The award was established in 2023. Logan is the second recipient.

After earning a master of science degree in civil engineering from Purdue in 2011 and a bachelor of science degree in construction engineering the previous year, Logan joined WJE in 2012. He possesses expertise in failure investigations, repair and rehabilitation design, difficult access inspections, construction observation, condition surveys, facade assessments, and structural analysis. Notable national projects include investigation and design services for the Oklahoma State Capital, the Tribune Tower in Chicago, Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the Indiana World War Memorial, blast assessments following the Nashville 2020 Christmas bombing, and the Notre Dame University JACC assessment project, to name a few.

"Purdue teaches us the Boilermaker Way, which can be summarized as pursuit of success by taking the path less traveled-often the harder way-and doing the right thing, in the right way, and for the right reasons, every time," Logan said. "I'm fortunate to continue the pursuit of success and positive impact at WJE, where the WJE way and the Boilermaker Way are largely indistinguishable."

In addition to his experience at WJE, Logan also serves as a Structures Specialist on FEMA's Indiana Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue Team as well as on the State of Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission.
