Waverly, IA - The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently held ribbon cuttings for two businesses, and presented Progress Awards to four businesses in Waverly.
The Ambassadors met with Director Sarah Meyer and staff at the Waverly Public Library to hold a ribbon cutting and Progress Award presentation to celebrate the completed library renovations. The new renovations include the updated entryway, the youth wing, as well as meeting rooms and dedicated quiet areas for adults to read. With these new renovations the Waverly Public Library will be able to better meet the community's needs. The Ambassadors met with Executive Director, Jill Krall, from Waverly-Shell Rock United Way to hold a ribbon cutting and Progress Award presentation to celebrate the new office space for United Way, located at 109 4th St. SW. This new office space will allow Waverly-Shell Rock United Way to better meet the needs of the community as they have not had an office space since the pandemic. The Ambassadors met with Superintendent David Hill, Principal Mitch Parker and Principal Emilee Metcalf to present the Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District with two Progress Awards to celebrate the opening of two new schools in Waverly, North Ridge Elementary and Prairie West Elementary. North Ridge is located at 101 North Ridge Parkway and Prairie West is located at 401 30th St NW. Both schools are k-4 elementary schools which offer academic classrooms as well as art, physical education, music, a guidance program, special education, and remedial reading support.
