2024 Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting Festival
The holiday season is kicking off in Wyandotte County this Friday, November 15 from 4-8pm at Memorial Hall. Mayor Tyrone A. Garner, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas (UG) and Downtown Shareholders invite you to the 2024 Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting Festival, a free celebration for the entire community.
Music, local vendors, good trucks and fun for all ages begins at 4pm and the tree lighting countdown is scheduled for 7pm. On the mainstage, emceed by Sandra Olivas, we will welcome nationally-recognized singer LeVelle and local band Stranded in the City. Free activities include face painting, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, goodies bags and holiday movies. A complete rundown of the event is available at wycokck.org.
Mayor Garner's annual Gingerbread House Village is back! This year, UG department will compete again for bragging rights. Competition winners, as selected by the UG Commissioners, will be announced during the lighting festival. Come take a tour of our gingerbread village!
